The American Academy of Sleep Medicine has new recommendations for children’s sleep requirements. All these figures included nap time. PS: if your child has a tough time getting to sleep, then you might reduce screen time (games, videos) before bedtime. Here are the times.

  • 4 to 12 months: 12 to 16 hours
  • 1 to 2 years: 11 to 14 hours
  • 3 to 5 years: 10 to 13 hours
  • 6 to 12 years: 9 to 12 hours
  • 13 to 18 years: 8 to 10 hours
